AP Honors

Welcome to Mission Vista High School’s AP Page!

MVHS is proud to offer students 18 College Board Approved classes along with the opportunity to test in additional classes offered by College Board (Exam Only).

What is AP?

-AP stands for Advanced Placement.  College Credit is available to students through testing in the springtime via the College Board’s Advanced Placement Program exams.

-AP credit is accepted at many universities and colleges throughout the world. Credit is awarded by receiving institutions based on their own transfer policies and the scores earned. There is no guarantee of credit based on the result of the exam since universities and colleges have their own policies for accepting scores.

AP Test registration:

-There are two AP test Registration windows for signing up to take the AP test.

-Students registered for fall AP classes should only sign up for their AP exams in the fall and wait for the spring term to sign up for their spring term AP  exams.

-If a student wishes to self-study (exam only) for an exam for a class not offered at MVHS, students must register in the fall to avoid a $40 late fee.

- Fall window closes  October 26th.  $40 LATE FEE will start on October 27th

- Spring window closes February 22nd.  $40 LATE FEE will start on February 23rd

-This year the College Board is charging a $40 late registration fee and $40 cancellation fee.  AP teachers will explain the registration process through the College Board and payment process through Total Registration to students in their AP classes.

- Any questions regarding AP can be forwarded to the AP coordinator, Zein Stearman / zeinsleiman-stearman@vistausd.org

*Students not registered in the district will not be able to register for exams at MVHS*
