ASB Weekly Update

• And I’m Alek. And this is your 7th weekly Wolfpack Update for Tuesday, October 1st 2024

• At Fall Fest on October 11th, there will be a costume contest for the Best Duo, Most Creative, Scariest Costume, and Best Overall. Start planning now!
• We are still taking volunteers to help with the haunted house, you will get community service hours including CSF hours. We'll see you at Fall Fest.
• The cafeteria staff would like to remind all students that they receive one free breakfast and one free lunch daily. We are also encouraging the use of your ID cards when receiving your meals. This will help you get through the lines a lot quicker, and ensure no one else is using your lunch number. We appreciate your help and understanding. Thank you so much for eating with us and we look forward to serving you in the future.

• Midterms are coming up next week! But don't panic, CSF members are ready to tutor you in any subject you need, with personalized, one-on-one tutoring! Visit the MVHS CSF website or scan the QR code on any of the flyers around the school to sign up. Teachers, please spread the word and encourage students to seek help.

• It’s College Visit Season!  This week UC Santa Barbara, MiraCosta College, Stanislaus State University, California Baptist University, and the University of La Verne will be on campus. Visit the College & Career Center during Lunch to meet the college reps, explore programs offered, and learn about the application process.  Check out the MVHS College Visit Calendar online for a full list of colleges visiting campus this month.
• Have questions about college?  Don’t miss MVHS College Information Night coming up tomorrow evening, Wednesday, October 2 from 6pm - 8pm here on campus. Join us to learn about the college application process, financial aid opportunities, and more.  Attend workshops hosted by representatives from UC San Diego, Cal State San Marcos, MiraCosta College, Palomar College, and the MVHS Counseling Team.  See you there!
• The deadline for new clubs has passed but don’t fret, it has been extended until october 3rd, with no exceptions. If you need any help please email Mr Etheridge and get that paperwork in!
• The French club will be hosting its first meeting of the school year tomorrow in room 504. There will be a fun cultural activity and some delicious snacks. Be sure to bring your friends and follow mvhs.French on instagram to see your photos from Club Rush!
• We have reserved a whole section at Front Wave Arena for the Clippers game, check your email to buy discounted tickets which WILL sell out, be quick and see you at the game!
• The student of the week is Joshua Amador. He is an incredibly friendly student with a paragon of talent in Computer Science, especially in Machine Learning. His knack for understanding complex topics and assisting his classmates is truly impressive. Joshua always goes the extra mile to support his peers, making him an invaluable classmate. His commitment to learning and eagerness to share knowledge foster a collaborative and positive learning environment for everyone.
