School Site Council

School Site Council (SSC) is a shared governance group comprised of multiple stakeholders including faculty and staff members, the principal, parents, and students; most members of SSC are elected by their peers. The primary role of SSC is to oversee and monitor the implementation of the school’s Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA), and the group does have the authority to make decisions pertaining to how certain school funds shall be allocated.  

SSC meets once per month during the school year, and meeting agendas and minutes are made public to the stakeholders of MVHS.  In addition to overseeing the implementation of the SPSA, over the past two years, SSC has also played a role in the WASC accreditation process, and has allocated student intervention funds to support the MVHS after-school tutoring program, The PACK and other programs on campus.

Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA)

The School Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA) is a strategic plan that maximizes the resources available to the school while minimizing duplication of effort with the ultimate goal of increasing student achievement. SPSA development should be aligned with and inform the Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) process.

This SPSA template consolidates all school-level planning efforts into one plan for programs funded through the Consolidated Application (ConApp), and for federal Additional Targeted Support and Improvement (ATSI), pursuant to California Education Code (EC) Section 64001 and the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) as amended by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). 

This template is designed to meet schoolwide program planning requirements for both the SPSA and federal ATSI planning requirements.
